Description

11 inches - Ash wood - Full Twist motif

I hadn't known the extraordinary significance of this wand until a Ravenclaw student picked it up and guessed the date of which it was completed. As I am constantly in the process of producing them, I initially didn't know the exact date and had to refer to my journal to confirm if she was right. She was dead on. When I asked how she knew, she pointed out that the one wrapping coil in the design represented the day, and the other represented the month. Of course, it was an unintentional coincidence, but a sharp find nonetheless. I offered the wand to her at no charge for her cleverness, but she declined as she already owns one.

If you're interested, I also have a growing gallery of my wand work here: WANDS.

Typically, I'm not a fan of twisty wands, simply because they usually look like somebody just took to snakes of clay and twirled them together haphazardly. This one, however, is... beautiful. I'm not sure how to describe why, but I am sure a major part of it comes from the fact that the swirls were carved from the wood, not a simple twist-together method. I love it. :D
